New fingerprinting algorithm for slow SQL queries

We released a new Tideways Daemon version this week, accompanied by changes deployed to our backend. These changes aim to improve the way slow SQL queries are grouped, since there were instances where differently shaped queries were grouped into the same entry.

Now we make sure that every query will be grouped separately. But applying a new fingerprinting algorithm means that all existing entries will get new fingerprints, and therefore, new entries in your lists under ‘Slow SQLs’ will appear. The old entries will rotate out slowly, as no new occurrences will be added from now on.

We do not  expect any issues, and there is nothing to do on your end, but if you are experiencing any issues, do not hesitate to contact us at [email protected]
